Shooting Plan: Day 2
Today I will be filming a few shots of sunsets and driving at night which I will then speed up and play it at different parts of my video. These shots are supposed to show a change and transition of scenes as well as the passing of time. However I might take some shots of Megan driving if I get the time or the opportunity. Unfortunately because I am wanting to shoot a sunset I can't film much in the daytime before I film the sunset. Hopefully the footage I take will be at a quality to use on my video.
Setting and Location
Where I film my video is an important part of my video, it gives a sense of who the characters are and where they come from. I considered multiple places for my video however I felt it best to keep the houses and streets of where my actors actually live. The hopes of doing this is that they not only know where they are going/filming, but they also feel more comfortable and I will be able to get a better audience out of them.
Because of where I live and the time of year we are filming in, I can only film council house/ run down area in the winter. This contrasts with the happiness of the song which is an issue. However I feel like the area I film could make the statement of how we are happy where we choose to be and we dont need a rich area to project a happy lifestyle.
Thurcroft is the home of Megan Strutt and so that's where my video begins. It starts with landscape shots of nearby fields to give a sense of who she is and where she's from. It's fortunate that her house is far away because I can timelapse the car journey and speed it up which is a shot I am wanting at some point In my video. For Megan Tweed's house I am using a friend Briony Canning's house as Tweeds house is on a busy main road and you can't see the door from the road. Briony's house however is not on a main road and I can get a good range of shots and angles of Tweed as she exits this house.
Liam has agreed to let me film him getting ready in his house, this is a shot I need to give a wider depth of characters other than Megan and Tweed. His house is close to both Megan's and Charlie's, this means it is an easy shoot location.

Filming Plan
I am wanting to keep my filming organized and planned out in a way that I can structure when I need each individual person, this will give me the most chance of choosing days people will be available on. I will start by filming Megan Strutt coming out of her house, entering the car and then driving off. I will then time-lapse the footage of her driving and speed it up to make it appear like she has travelled a long distance. This is "Day 1" of my filming.
Day 2 will hopefully be of Megan Strutt turning up at "Megan Tweeds house" and waiting for her to come out. Then the camera will show Tweed coming out of the house and getting in her car. I will be sat in the back filming the two of them in the drivers/passenger seat. I would also like to shoot something at sunset to capture a change of sky using a time-lapse.
Day 3 will most probably be re-shooting any scenes that turned out blurry or not to a high standard. I'm not planning on any new shots for this day.
Day 4 will hopefully be a film of a party scene. The climax to my video is everyone having fun and dancing at a party. This is what the video will be about, 4 friends (or mainly 2) getting ready for a party and having a good time.
Day 5 will be going and getting the landscape, far shots that I will be including throughout my video, especially at the beginning and end. This means I will have to go to various locations to capture these. These include Sheffield, Rotherham, Worksop, and possibly Lincoln.
Day 6 is going to be Charlie, Megan, Liam, and Charlie getting ready in there bedrooms. This will hopefully be simple enough to film as I just need to film them one on one. I am filming this last and not In sequence as I feel like it's simple enough to get each person one on one.

Shooting 1: Raw footage
The first set of filming I did was of Megan Strutt leaving her house, entering the car and then driving off. The shooting went well however because of the weather I didn't get the atmosphere I wanted. This means I will have manipulate the hue and saturation of my footage to get a brighter feel to my video. Also, because my camera ran out of battery while filming, I couldn't complete all the shots I wanted too, however because some of the shots are blurry and not to a very high standard, I will be going back to Megan's house anyway to re-shoot some of my video, and that's when I will shoot my missing scenes.
Raw Footage taken from the camera.

Shooting Plan: Day 1
For the first day of my filming a few shots for my music video I did a few things in preparation for the day. The first day of shooting I chose is Sunday the 8th of January. I'm not shooting a lot of scenes for my music video but enough to begin editing a few scenes.
The scenes I have chosen to shoot are a few of Megan Strutt and Megan Tweed in the car with a green screen over the windows. This means I can begin editing this to look like they are driving the car. I can also have a few shots of the two of them holding hands, getting into the car, and picking one of them up.
In preparation for the filming, I have made sure that they are both free on the day, as well as booking out all the equipment I need for this weekend. I have also checked the weather forecast to make sure the weather is the type that I want it to be.

Actor Choice
For my music video I have decided to use the following actors.
Mitchell Oliver
Megan Tweed
Megan Strutt
Charlie Yates
I have chosen these actors for various reasons. Mitchell Oliver and Charlie Yates are both experienced with camera equipment and are free most Sundays and weekdays which means it is easy to organise days to shoot. Megan Tweed and Megan Strutt were chosen for this reason. Mitchell and Charlie are not going to be key characters throughout my video they are going to be friends who may not even be used as needed characters at all.

Research into Narrative
I have decided to have a non-set narrative in my music video. However even tho there wont be a set beginning middle and end it will still contain elements of a conventional narrative structure. This is a choice I have made through research into existing media products and coming to the decision that a music video made up of different clips with no real correlation would suit the song I have chosen. However I would still like a staggered story-line within which depicts 4 main character having fun together who will serve as the anchor points for my video so that the audience has characters to connect with.
I looked into Vladimir Propp's narrative theory while researching what kind of story I wanted to tell within my video. Propp's theory stated that regardless of the context a set narrative always follows certain rules and most importantly, set characters. These characters are ones such as "The Hero" "The Villain" "The Helper" etc. This is a theory which, in my opinion, seems to apply more to a Shakespearean tragedy then any given narrative however the bases of the theory is that there are set characters who fulfil specific roles. In my video the characters I include won't be explored enough as they won't have any dialogue to define them into these roles, however they could be seen to fulfil these roles as the most seen character would be viewed as the hero and any antagonist in my video would be viewed as the villain. This theory applies to my work to a certain extent however I won't use it as a framework to base my narrative off.
The theory that I most considered applying to my work and my process was Todorov's who stated that every narrative begins with a state of "equilibrium" where the protagonist is happy, then the disruption happens where the protagonist has to fight to return to equilibrium. This is a theory which is applied to many films and story lines and even some music videos. I have chosen however to not include this set narrative type as the song I have chosen is so happy that there is no point where a disruption would fit. In a way, my video is set in an equilibrium but has no disruption.
