Risk Assesment for Filming

  Possible Risk
Prevention
Someone gets hit by a car while shooting on/near a road.
Make shooting near roads minimal and choose a less busy time when filming.
Meg crashes the car while filming.
Make sure Megan isn’t distracted while driving, wear seatbelts throughout. Only travel short distances when filming
Shots are shaky and unprofessional looking.
Use a Steadicam or Tripod whenever possible.
Starts raining and ruins continuity when filming
Check weather and choose a day of clear weather. Make sure everyone can wear the same clothes and organize a back-up film day.
Someone has to leave unexpectedly while filming
Make sure everyone can wear the same clothes and use the backup day. Make sure I have other shots I can film so not to waste a day of filming.
Alien Invasion while shooting.
Take the Aliens to our leader, negotiate. When peace treaty forms continue with filming on a backup day.
Someone has a problem with what they are asked to do while filming
Prepare back-up scenarios of things they won’t be uncomfortable with.

Progress Report

To make sure we were on track with our blogs, we filled in a progress report to make sure we could organise which parts of our project needed to be improved. This helped me visualise the pro's and cons of my project.

Target Audience Research

ACORN Infographic

While researching who my Target Audience would be, I looked at ACORN Demographics, a website which specialise in targeting specific demographics based on postcode, age, gender, income and hobbies. The information given is easily transferable and is what I used when deciding my Target Audience.

Target Demographic

My target audience for this project is 12-25 year old and both males and females. I have decided this after researching Acorn Demographic's and how they use strategist statistics to calculate which age groups and what type of demographics respond best to different products. I went onto there age website and gathered a few pieces of information which would help me find out who my audience should be.

Using Acorn information from there websites and existing knowledge of the media industry. My key demographic would be 12-25 year olds who are of comfortable prosperity's as they are the most likely to be using computers and technology and so would have more chance to acsess my product. Up to 22% of people use the Internet 20+ hours a day. This means they are very likely to view my product if marketed correctly.

Colour Swatches

To check that the colour scheme I chose would be suitable for my target audience, I created different swatches on a word document and then handed them out to a few peers to recieve feedback. This will helpfully give me a better idea of what colours people would prefer. Even though that I have created this it does not necessarily mean I will keep the colour scheme they pick, as it may not suit the overall theme, I am using this as a starting point for where I should begin. I will hand these swatches out and get people to tick which one they believe to be the best choice for the advertisements and digipak.

Rotoscope Example

I decided to add animations to my video to make it appear much more happy. I came to the decision after the first few days of shooting when I realised that grey skies were going to be the main whether throughout my video. To counteract this I had the idea of using animations and colour corrector through photoshop to make my shots seem much brighter. These are two examples of shots that have been changed through basic colour correction and Photoshop.

Rotoscoping : Tutorial

An idea I had for my media video was creating animations through Photoshop which I can then include in my video. The reason for this was that I wanted something that would change the drab grey sky and surroundings of my video to make it look intentional and more playful. The animations would ideally look happy and "cartoonish" which would help the overall feel of my video.

To achieve this I had to research through online videos. I found out the thing I was trying to achieve is called "Rotoscoping" and through this video I found out how to rotoscope my animations onto Photoshop.

Shooting Plan: Day 3

Day 3 of my shooting will consist of filming Megan strutt getting out of her car at her friends house, then walking to the door, going inside and then talking inside the house. I will then need to shoot Megan and her friend getting into the car and then driving off, and shots of themselves in the car.
